The Texas Legislature is the state legislature of the U.S. state of Texas. It is a bicameral body composed of a 31-member Senate and a 150-member House of Representatives. The state legislature meets at the Capitol in Austin. The upcoming session will be the 89th session and is scheduled to convene on January 14, 2025 at noon the regular sessions are 140 calendar days. 

Texas also knows as the Lone Star State is comprised of 5 Texas HIMSS Local Chapter. Each Texas HIMSS Chapter meets with their local Legislative representatives throughout the year; however, the Texas HIMSS Advocacy Committee, works as one team when we gathered in Austin to visit and educate our entire Texas Legislative representatives on March 24th.
